Bio

Annie Harrison Elliott is a playwright currently based in Atlanta, GA. Her plays have been produced, commissioned, or read by: Alliance Theatre, Actor's Express Threshold New Play Festival, Found Stages Theatre, The Atlanta History Center, Working Title Playwrights,Weird Sister's Theatre Project,DramaTech, Wide Eyed Productions NYC, Another Urban Riff (NYC), The Change You Want to See Gallery (Bklyn), The Little Times Square Theatre, 7 Stages Curious Encounters, Elm Street Cultural Arts Center, OnStage Atlanta, Atlanta Fringe Festival, and others.

 

Awards include: Eugene O'Neill Semi-finalist for full-length play Empty Rooms, Reiser Atlanta Artist Lab recipient from Alliance Theatre, and Ethel Woolson Lab recipient from Working Title Playwrights. Empty Rooms was nominated for the Gene Gabriel Moore Playwriting Award.   

Her plays Math Problems and The Best Balloon are published by YOUTHPlays.

Annie is currently under commission at Actor's Express Theater. 

The show she co-wrote with Found Stages was recently named one of the "Best of the Year" by ArtsATL. 

You can see Annie's work anytime as part of the Atlanta History Center's Gatheround Stories of Atlanta exhibit. 

Annie is a member of the Dramatist Guild and Writer's Guild of America, Working Title Playwrights, and she is an associate artist with Found Stages Theatre. Her collaborations with Found Stages include: Atlanta Podplays, Curious Literary Encounters, and most recently Frankenstein

She is currently working with a TV development company on a female-led comedy TV series. 

In addition to writing, Annie is passionate about teaching and arts activism. She Co-Founded Atlanta Women in Theatre in 2014. She is also a regional coordinator for Statera Arts.
